Every once in a while, a tattoo pulls me all the way into…

30 pieces
Every once in a while, a tattoo pulls me all the way into my happy place — and this one definitely did.
This design was inspired by a mathematical diagram from my client Peter, a computer science graduate who thinks in systems, logic, and flow. Our conversations about data, mapping ideas, and decision-making shaped the tattoo just as much as the lines themselves. Somewhere along the way, I realized I was basically trying to mimic a computer printer… but on human skin — and honestly, I loved every second of it.
Fun detail: this tattoo uses 16 different ink colors, but they’re made from only 7 pigments. Most tattoo inks are carefully blended formulas, designed to heal clean, age well, and stay readable over time. That kind of planning matters just as much as the design itself.
I’m always thinking about structure, longevity, and how tattoos live in the body — not just how they look on day one. Projects like this are a reminder that great tattoos come from collaboration, curiosity, and a little bit of obsession with the details.
