Excuse me while I swoon over this project for a second

Excuse me while I swoon over this project for a second. The smoothness and saturation in this grey wash are unreal, and it’s setting up such a solid foundation for the muted tones we’re building into this piece on @thegreenhairedstylist.
We went back and forth between color and black & grey at first, but once we leaned into her love for softer, muted tones, the direction became clear. Black and brown create a beautiful base to shift color values, age gracefully, and support long-term healed results — which is always the goal.
I’m also experimenting with more superficial line weights to expand into finer, more delicate designs moving forward, and this composition has me genuinely excited about where this tattoo is heading. Structure, pigment choice, and understanding how light and skin interact over time really matter, especially on larger body areas.
Thoughtful, planned tattoos allow us to avoid common aging pitfalls and create work that stays readable, balanced, and beautiful for years to come — and that’s where the magic lives for me.
If you’re dreaming about a larger, intentional project or something you’ve been wanting to plan properly, I’m starting a Q2 call list now. Feel free to reach out and get on the list — I’d love to talk ideas with you 🖤
